Modulox Drive
Engineered for precise rotational control and long-lasting mechanical duty cycles.
Castries, Saint Lucia, functions as a critical logistical gateway within the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS). Given its strategic maritime hub—Port Castries—the demand for reliable, high-performance electromechanical components has surged to support local marine systems, commercial refrigeration, hospitality equipment, and automated processing lines.
Our specialized Shaded Pole Gear Motors are engineered specifically to withstand challenging tropical climates. Operating in highly humid, coastal environments requires motors with superior rust-proofing, custom shaft options, and exceptional thermal protection to prevent wind-down failures. By exporting directly through Castries logistics ports, we ensure that commercial buyers, refrigeration technicians, and agricultural engineers across CARICOM receive premium motors that meet both European (CE) and North American (UL) safety guidelines.
Unlocking technological growth by mapping high-torque micro-motion demands.
As international regulatory frameworks enforce tighter controls on energy waste, shaded pole motors are undergoing aerodynamic stator redesigns and material upgrades to deliver higher torque per watt.
Smart locks, high-end automated valves, pellet stove feeding systems, and medical actuators require micro-motion drives that package massive mechanical force into tiny enclosures.
Standardized industrial hubs in Castries allow for direct CARICOM free-trade access, helping global OEMs mitigate tariffs and shipping delays while securing premium-grade drives.
Inside a premium robotic joint, an automated medical valve, or a high-end smart lock, space is the ultimate luxury. At Modulox Drive, we measure our manufacturing success in micrometers and decibels. Our mission is to take advanced, heavy-duty rotational power and compress it into the most compact, energy-efficient footprints imaginable.
Our expertise lies in the micro-details of motion control. From precision-wound copper rotors and high-purity commutators to zero-backlash planetary gear trains, every single internal component of a Modulox Drive motor is optimized to eliminate friction and maximize heat dissipation. By combining advanced automated Swiss-style hobbing with Japanese dynamic balancing, we ensure our micro drives deliver the fluid, whispering-quiet power your brand promises. When your next high-tech innovation relies on repeated mechanical perfection, let Modulox Drive be the core that spins it forward.
Strict traceability and workflow optimization ensure consistent product quality across all production cycles.
Our production line features state-of-the-art machinery to maintain micro-tolerance standards.
Optimized gear reduction configurations for heavy continuous torque and high-speed variance applications.
Every single batch undergoes exhaustive mechanical and electrical load analysis to prevent failure in demanding fields.
Shaded pole motors are self-starting single-phase induction motors. The structural key lies in the stator design, which features auxiliary copper bands (the shading coils) wrapped around a segment of each magnetic pole. When alternating current flows through the main winding, it generates a changing magnetic flux. Due to electromagnetic induction, the shading coil creates a delayed phase shift in its magnetic field compared to the unshaded section.
This phase shift creates a rotating magnetic field across the stator face, producing the required starting torque in the squirrel-cage rotor. While simple in physical design, optimizing this starting torque requires high-grade silicon steel laminations, precision-wound copper coils, and precise rotor balancing to minimize iron losses and prevent localized overheating.
Because shaded pole motors inherently run at high synchronous speeds relative to their torque output, a multi-stage gear reducer is required to convert high RPM into stable, controlled, high-torque output. Our gearbox designs feature custom-configured helical and spur gear stages to achieve reductions ranging from 1.5 RPM up to 100 RPM.
By utilizing advanced gear hobbing machines and dynamic lathing, the tolerance of gear pitch circles is held within micro-levels. This structural integrity minimizes backlash, prevents tooth wear under heavy stall conditions (e.g., pellet stove feeder jams), and extends the operational lifecycle up to 25,000 continuous running hours without oil leakage.

Shaded pole motors offer unparalleled reliability in high-temperature, humid, or electrically noisy environments. Because they do not require capacitors, internal electronic drivers, or complex control boards, they are highly resistant to voltage spikes and thermal stress. This simple design significantly reduces system costs and maintenance overhead in appliances like ovens, fireplaces, and pellet stoves.
Standard off-the-shelf motors can suffer from winding insulation breakdown and surface rust due to salt air. Our exported motors feature vacuum-impregnated windings, specialized anti-corrosive housing treatments, and double-shielded ball bearings. These configurations are validated in our salt spray chambers to ensure trouble-free service under Caribbean climatic conditions.
Yes. We support custom winding profiles for 100V, 110V, 220V, and 240V at both 50Hz and 60Hz. Shaft length, diameter, output flats (D-cut), and gear ratios (from 1.5 RPM to 100 RPM) can be tailored to meet your design envelopes. Contact our engineering team for custom drawings.
We test our motors utilizing advanced Dynamometer machines, constant temperature & humidity testing chambers, and an in-house noise testing chamber. Additionally, we run continuous load testing on our aging shelves under peak ambient temperatures to verify that both the lubricant stability and copper insulation stand up to long-term wear.
